Overview
Ait Ben Haddou is a ksar, a fortified village of earthen houses and kasbahs climbing a hill above a river, on the old caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, it is also one of the most filmed places in Morocco, from Lawrence of Arabia to Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
