The classic way is by camel, at sunset, with your luggage following by 4x4. If you prefer, you can reach the camp directly by 4x4. In the morning, watch the sunrise from the top of a dune before breakfast.
Our 5-day Marrakech to Merzouga tour in Superior category includes a night at the Azawad Luxury Desert Camp, with 4-star hotels for the other nights. On the 3-day tours from Marrakech or Fes, the luxury camp is available as an upgrade.
Yes, in the luxury camps we work with, each tent has its own bathroom with a toilet and a hot shower.
From November to March, desert nights can be close to freezing. Tents have thick blankets, and some camps provide heaters. Bring a warm layer for the evening around the fire.
Yes, if you already have transport. Most travellers combine it with one of our private tours, since Merzouga is a long drive from Marrakech or Fes.
