Overview
Just 45 minutes from Marrakech, the Agafay desert is a landscape of bare, rolling hills with the snowy High Atlas on the horizon. Unlike the Sahara it is a rocky desert, but its silence, its light at sunset and its starry nights make it the perfect escape from the city.
Choose your adventure for the afternoon (a camel or horse ride, quad biking or a buggy), watch the sun go down over the hills, then sit down to a Moroccan dinner in a desert camp, with Berber music and a fire show under the stars. You can also stay overnight in a luxury camp.

Sunset
Find a spot on the hills to watch the sun set behind the desert, as the Atlas turns pink in the distance.
Dinner under the stars
Dinner is served in a desert camp: salads, tagine, mint tea, with traditional music and a fire show. Far from the city lights, the sky is full of stars.

Frequently asked questions
Is Agafay a real desert?
Yes, but a rocky one: hills of stone and earth rather than sand dunes. For big sand dunes, you need to go to Zagora or Merzouga (2 to 3 days).
Can we stay overnight?
Yes. Several camps offer comfortable private tents, some with a pool. We can book one and organise your transfer back the next morning.
Is this a private tour?
Yes. You travel only with your own group, in a private vehicle with your driver-guide, and the timing adapts to you.
