Good to know
Difficulty: challenging. Summit day involves around 1,000 metres of ascent and a long descent, at altitude.
Equipment: good hiking boots, warm layers, a down jacket, hat and gloves (the summit is cold even in summer), sunglasses and sun cream. In winter, crampons and an ice axe are required and the trek is adapted to the snow conditions.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need trekking experience?
No technical climbing is involved, but you need good fitness and to be comfortable walking 5 to 7 hours a day on mountain trails. The guide adapts the pace to your group.
Can I climb Toubkal in winter?
Yes, from December to March the mountain is snowy and the ascent requires crampons, an ice axe and some experience. Tell us your level and we will advise you.
When is the best time to go?
Spring (April to June) and autumn (September to November) offer the best conditions. Summer is possible but hot in the valleys; in winter, snow can cover the high passes and the route is adapted.
