Overview
Jebel Saghro is a rugged volcanic range in southern Morocco, between the High Atlas and the Sahara. Its striking rock formations, vast plateaus and deep gorges make it one of the most unusual treks in the country, and one of the quietest.
Over six days you walk from oasis to plateau, camp beneath the famous twin towers of Bab n'Ali, climb to the highest point of the range, Kouaouch (2,592 m), and meet the semi-nomadic Ait Atta people who live here.
Highlights
- The twin rock towers of Bab n’Ali
- The summit of Kouaouch (2,592 m), with views to the desert
- Volcanic landscapes, oases and deep gorges

Frequently asked questions
Do I need trekking experience?
No technical climbing is involved, but you need good fitness and to be comfortable walking 5 to 7 hours a day on mountain trails. The guide adapts the pace to your group.
When is the best season for Saghro?
From October to April. Unlike the High Atlas, Saghro is a winter trek: the summer heat makes it unsuitable from June to September.
