An hour from the city
Berber villages, waterfalls and valleys at the foot of Toubkal, with lunch in a family home: the High Atlas in a day, with private transport.
Our Atlas day tripsFrom the rooftops of Marrakech, on a clear day, you can see the snowy line of the High Atlas. An hour's drive is enough to swap the medina for mountain air, walnut groves and Berber villages built in earth and stone.
There are several ways to spend a day in the Atlas. All our excursions are private, with pick-up from your riad or hotel.

Imlil sits at the foot of Mount Toubkal, North Africa's highest peak. With a local guide, you walk through the villages and up to the waterfalls, then share lunch at the guide's family home. The best choice for walkers and mountain views.
The Ourika Valley is greener and gentler, with riverside restaurants and a short hike to the waterfalls of Setti Fatma. Perfect in summer, when the valley is much cooler than the city.
For food lovers: spend the day in a mountain village learning to cook tagine, couscous and bread with a Berber family, then share the meal you made.
The Ouzoud waterfalls, Morocco's tallest at 110 metres, are about 3 hours away in the Middle Atlas, with Barbary monkeys on the trails. Ait Ben Haddou, across the High Atlas, makes for a longer day.
Imlil for mountain scenery and walking, Ourika for a relaxed day by the river, the cooking class for a cultural experience, Ouzoud for spectacular waterfalls.
Not for these day trips. The walks are easy to moderate and the guide adapts the route to your group.
It is cooler than in Marrakech, especially from November to March, when the peaks are snowy. Bring a warm layer.
Tell us your date and the kind of day you would like, and we will organise everything from your riad door.
