Direct flights to Marrakech from the USA: the nonstop routes to Morocco in 2026–27
United and Delta now fly nonstop to Marrakech from Newark and Atlanta in winter, and Royal Air Maroc links Casablanca with four US cities: routes, dates and how to choose.

Yes: two US airlines now fly nonstop to Marrakech, United from Newark and Delta from Atlanta, but only from late October to spring. All year round, Royal Air Maroc flies nonstop to Casablanca from New York, Washington, Miami and, since June 2026, Los Angeles, with an hour's connecting flight on to Marrakech.
Until 2024, every trip from the US to Marrakech meant a change, usually in Casablanca or a European hub. Here is what has changed, how often each route runs this winter, and how to choose. Schedules are as of 4 November 2026, taken from the airlines' announcements and from the schedule filings reported by aviation sites such as AeroRoutes and the Moroccan press. Airlines adjust them often, so check before you book. We don't quote fares: they change every day.

Newark–Marrakech with United (since October 2024)
United opened the route on 24 October 2024 and became the first US airline to fly to Marrakech. It started with three flights a week on a Boeing 767 with lie-flat Polaris business seats, and it is a winter route: in summer, the aircraft goes back to United's European network. Eastbound it is an overnight flight of about seven and a half hours, landing in Marrakech in the morning; the return takes closer to nine.
The route has grown every season. For 2025–26, United went to four flights a week, with a daily flight over the holidays. Flights resumed on 25 October 2026 for the third season: four a week until late March, daily from 18 December to 6 January, then three a week on a larger Boeing 767-400 until 25 May 2027, about two months longer than first scheduled. United connects nearly 80 destinations in the Americas through Newark, so this is the obvious choice from the north-east.
Atlanta–Marrakech with Delta (since October 2025)
Delta's first ever flight to Morocco left Atlanta on 25 October 2025. It ran three times a week on a Boeing 767-400ER through the winter, then stopped for the summer in mid-May 2026.
It is back for 2026–27: three flights a week from 25 October 2026, daily from 19 to 31 December, on a slightly smaller Boeing 767-300ER. We have not found the date of its last spring flight yet. Through its Atlanta hub, Delta connects more than 125 US cities, which makes this the easiest one-stop option from the South, the Midwest and the West. Count on about ten hours on the flight back.
Royal Air Maroc: New York, Washington, Miami… and now Los Angeles
Morocco's national airline has flown to New York since the 1970s, and its hub is Casablanca's Mohammed V airport. In the US it flies from New York JFK, Washington Dulles and Miami, and in Canada from Montreal and Toronto. On 7 June 2026 it added Los Angeles, the first nonstop route between Africa and the US West Coast: three flights a week on a Boeing 787, 11 to 12 hours, with flights from LA landing in Casablanca early in the morning. Royal Air Maroc is a member of the oneworld alliance, which matters if you collect American Airlines miles.
From Casablanca, the connecting flight to Marrakech takes about an hour. You may also have read that Royal Air Maroc would fly to Boston: in July 2026 it ran 12 special flights for Morocco's World Cup quarter-final there, but as of November 2026 Boston is not among its regular US departures.
Flying into Casablanca or Marrakech?
If your trip starts in Marrakech, as almost all of ours do, a nonstop to Marrakech saves a connection or a long transfer. Casablanca airport is about 225 km from Marrakech, two and a half to three hours by motorway. By train, you change in Casablanca, and the Casablanca–Marrakech leg alone takes about three hours on the current timetable, which changes often while the new high-speed line is being built.
Flying into Casablanca makes sense:
- from late May to late October, when there is no nonstop to Marrakech;
- from Washington, Miami or Los Angeles, or if you prefer a daily choice of flights from New York;
- if your trip starts in the north, with Rabat, Fes or Chefchaouen. Our 9-day tour from Casablanca starts at the airport and can finish in Marrakech, which suits a ticket into Casablanca and home from Marrakech.
A day is enough for Casablanca itself; we explain why in is Casablanca worth visiting?. In the future, the gap will shrink: the Kenitra–Marrakech line will put Casablanca airport about 55 minutes from Marrakech, with opening planned for 2029 (see our article on the high-speed train to Marrakech).
Marrakech airport is getting bigger
More flights mean more passengers: Marrakech-Menara handled 10.2 million in 2025, a record and almost a million more than in 2024. These are figures from ONDA, the national airports office, as reported by the Moroccan press; we could not open ONDA's own website to check them. They are part of the wider boom in Moroccan tourism.
In August 2025, ONDA awarded the contract to enlarge and rework the terminals to Jet Contractors, for about 2.2 billion dirhams (around €200 million). The terminal area will grow to about 142,000 m² and the capacity to about 16 million passengers a year. The project belongs to the "Airports 2030" plan, linked to the 2030 World Cup; ONDA's director general said its airport projects should be finished before 2028, except for Casablanca's (2029). Until then, expect building work and queues at peak times, and give yourself extra time when you fly home.
Our tip: book the long-haul first
- Start with the flight. The nonstops run only a few days a week, so your arrival and departure days shape the trip. Book them, then fit the desert or the Atlas around them.
- Keep day one light. Overnight flights land in the morning after a short night. Rest in your riad, walk a little, and save a private guided tour of the medina for the next morning.
- Mind the clock. Morocco now stays on GMT all year: 5 hours ahead of New York in winter and 4 in summer, 8 and 7 hours ahead of Los Angeles.
- Then go further. Our 3-day Merzouga desert tour can leave from your riad, your hotel or the airport, and a private, tailor-made tour can be built around your exact flight days. For entry rules and other practicalities, read our things to know before you go.
Once you have your flight numbers, send them to us on WhatsApp or through our contact page, and we'll plan the days in between.
